InOctober 2026we joined theTechnology Forum of Institución Universitaria Mayor de Cartagena, one of the spaces where the city's academic community shows what its students are capable of building.

A scale-model smart home

Among the projects presented was asmart home prototype: a model with a screen, controls, and a fan that operate automatically. As its creators explained, the system kicks in when thetemperaturereaches a set level, to prevent hazards, and it also featuresrain sensorsthat trigger an automatic response when it starts to rain.

On a small scale, it is the same thing we do at GETS with AI-powered home automation: sensors, rules, and a brain that makes decisions so spaces run on their own.

Why do we support these spaces?

  • Because the talent Cartagena's technology industry needs is being trained today at its universities.
  • Because classroom projects can become real products with technical and business support.
  • Because at GETS we believe in collaboration between industry and academia: lectures, talks, visits to our labs, and internships.

Universidad Mayor de Cartagena is one of the universities that trust and collaborate with GETS.
